Compounding

Meeting the unique needs of patients through the highest-quality compounding

Compounding involves the creation of a drug by a licensed pharmacist on-site at a specialized and accredited pharmacy. FountainRx offers a variety of high-quality compounded medications designed to meet the unique requirements of each patient and in accordance with each physician’s specific instructions. Since these drugs are not created by a large-scale manufacturer, our pharmacists can precisely adjust the dosage when required. We also frequently compound drugs for patients who are allergic to certain ingredients. Our medications are created using raw ingredients from only the most reputable, carefully-vetted manufacturers. The medications we develop from these ingredients may take many forms including pills, lotions, gels or creams.

Our compounding practices are subject to rigorous oversight

All compounding pharmacies are regulated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP), and state boards of pharmacy. However, FountainRx goes above and beyond to focus on quality in its compounding processes. We have invested in the following areas to ensure our compounded drugs are both safe and effective:

  • Accreditation by leading quality organizations, including the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB). Less than one percent of the 60,000+ pharmacies in the United States have the distinction of being PCAB accredited.
  • Highly-trained compounding pharmacists who have extensive knowledge of compounding practices and safety procedures
  • Specialized equipment and a comprehensive quality assurance process
  • Inclusion in the FocusScript network, a specialized network of accredited and certified compounding pharmacies
